ONLY FOR NON-EU STUDENTS
The temporary visa in your passport is valid for 90 days only from the date you wish to enter Italy.
Once you enter Italy you will be required to apply for your Residence Permit within 8 days of arrival.
Follow these steps to complete the application process.
/ HOW TO APPLY FOR THE RESIDENCE OF PERMIT:

Go to any Post Office (Poste Italiane) where there is a Sportello Amico counter;

Ask for the free yellow Kit for the application submission. Fill in the Modulo 1 of the documents that you will find inside the folder;

Buy the €16,00 duty stamp in a Tabacchi Shop to be attached to the kit;

In addition to the application form, you must bring with you the following documents:

a valid passport in order to be identified from the post office operator;

copy of the passport, including the pages with personal data, student visa and entry stamp;

copy of your health insurance policy;
-
IAAD letter of acceptance.

Go back to the post office (“Sportello Amico”) and hand in the kit. Do not seal the envelope.

When the application is delivered to the post office, you must pay:

€70,46 for the Electronic Residence Permit (PSE) fee + the production cost;

€30,00 for the service charge for submitting the application;

The operator will give you a Postal Receipt with an ID and Password you will need later to check the status of your document (In case of loss, you must report it at a police station).
You will also receive an envelope containing the date of the appointment at the Immigration Office, Questura di Torino (via Tommaso Dorè n. 3, Torino) where the police officers will take your fingerprints and check the documents you previously submitted.
It is very important that you keep this appointment. -
For this appointment, do not forget to bring:

your passport;

4 ID photos;

the postal receipt with your appointment letter and the payment receipt as well;

a new healthcare insurance, in case the one you submitted at the Post Office has expired yet, (remember that the expiring date of your permit will be the same as your insurance).
