> DO I NEED A STUDENT VISA?

If you are an EU and Schengen area (Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Switzerland, San Marino, Vaticano City) citizen, you are allowed to enter Italy with your valid ID only or passport. If you stay in Italy more than 3 months, you are required to register at the local Registry Office (“Anagrafe”): http://www.comune.torino.it/anagrafe/

Important: an entry visa for tourism cannot be used to matriculate at IAAD. or to obtain a residence permit for study purposes.

If you are a non-EU and non-Schengen area citizen, you will need your valid passport along with a student VISA (Type D)
Check on this web if you need a visa or not: click here.
In the Reasons for your stay field, please select Study - UNIVERSITY ENROLMENT.
If you are planning to stay in Italy more than 3 months, you are required to apply for a Residence Permit.
It may take a long time to get the visa, so we recommend you to apply as soon as you receive the admission notice from IAAD.
